The Image Rules

This is a combined stance by Proboards and Peaceful Nightmares on the use of images on this forum. Proboards expect that all of its members use images that are not under copyright unless permission is granted for its use by the owner. The owner and creator of Peaceful Nightmares strongly feels the same way. IF YOU WISH TO USE IMAGES OF THAT OF A MODEL OR OF A PIECE OF ARTWORK SOMEONE ELSE CREATED, ASK THEM FOR PERMISSION FIRST! If they allow you permission to use their image(s), you are free to do so. If they have not, do not use their image. The owner and creator of this site does not want to be held responsible for members infringing on copyright laws. We do reserve the right to remove your images from the forum if the owner of the image and copyright ask us to do so. Otherwise, please adhere to the remaining restrictions we place upon using photographs, illustrations and other images on this forum.

  Images in Roleplay
  As we know pictures are worth a thousand words, sometimes you will feel that it is far easier to post an image in your IC writing instead of describing what the image is. We would ask that you not simply post an image or its URL for that matter you’re your writing as this looks most untidy and detracts from the feel of Roleplay. Instead, we ask that you link an image to whatever it is you are trying to briefly describe. That does not mean that you link an image to a mouthful of text, one or two words is sufficient and will be all that we allow.
  For example, if you are describing your character’s clothing, that she is wearing a dress and you would like to link an image of that dress into your writing. Please link the image to the appropriate word; dress. Then you can continue to post links to her shoes, coat, bag, etc without the hassle of having your Roleplay affected.
  To link an image or for that matter, any URL to any piece of writing, please use the following code and place the URL after the equals sign (=) and before the closing bracket ( ] ).

• Images in Character Sheets
  Pictures in your Character Sheets can save you a lot of time in describing every distinguishing aspect of your character or their possessions, clothing, etc. We also appreciate how pictures and images can make a CS look that much more impressive. For those points entirely, we allow you to place as many pictures or links to pictures as you like in your Character Sheets. However, we do ask that you keep to a size limit to avoid stretching the page and causing drag time on loading pages.
  The maximum size that any image in your CS can be is 800 x 800 pixels. This is fairly large and generous, so please do not use any images that are larger directly in your CS. If you have pictures that are too large, then we suggest you insert a link to this image instead, there is no size limit of the images that you can use outside of the forum that are linked to your CS, just please do not post any images above this limit; 800 x 800 pixels. If your image is too large we will let you know and give you the opportunity to change this, but again, we will only ask you nicely so many times and wait only so long before we take action ourselves and remove the image. If you have any concerns of images in your CS, please contact a member of staff that will guide you.
