You may have encountered similar rules in many other roleplaying forums of many different types as they are the basics of what is expected from any member who wishes to join in any fantasy world. We here at The Crossover Realm advise, for new players and for older players, that you read through these rules thoroughly as remembering where to toe the line can serve one greatly here.
The roleplaying rules are as follows:
God-modding is the act of roleplaying another person's character or NPC without their permission. You are only entitled to control your own character here, not the characters or NPCs of other players. Speaking on behalf of someone else's character is strictly against the rules, as is moving them. However, if, for example, you push hard against a weaker character, you can describe them falling over. Just don't describe their reaction, their expression or their words.

Write your character in the world set out in this thread. Please adhere to what's stated as being available through the game and do not add items or other things which are not appropriate for this site. If you are unsure, ask a moderator or administrator. This can't be expressed enough. That's not to say you can never have what you want available though. The Crossover Realm is a site for the creative and we invite suggestions at any time and hope to include as much of our member's opinions and suggestions as possible. If you want for something to exist here that hasn't been stated yet, then post it in the Suggestions board and we'll see what we can do. Remember to be patient with us as we can be quite busy, but with luck and some discussion, you may have what you want added to what's readily available to the people of this world. If, however, we turn you down, don't give up too easily, but please do not ignore our reasoning. We won't ever ban a person for being creative and inventing new items. However, please be advised that constant abuse of this rule will result in punishment.[/li][/ul]
The roleplaying rules are as follows:
- No IC/OOC Crossing or Mixing:
This rule requires that the player learn where the lines are drawn between their own knowledge and their character's knowledge. For example, do not assume that your character will know another person's name simply because you, as the player, can read the person's name on their profile. If the other person has not revealed their character's identity, then your character can not know this person's name.
This rule can also be abused in another way, a way which we take very seriously here. It is against the rules to attack a person because their character has done something which annoys you. If you have a problem with another member of the forum, we suggest that you avoid them and if there is a serious issue that you feel the staff of this forum should be aware of, please address them.
Please do not go out and attack the player behind the character for their character's action. Also, do not do the reverse of this and attack a character because the player of that character has done something to annoy you. If we catch you attacking a person's character simply because you have a grudge against that person and do not express a good enough roleplay excuse, you will be dealt with. - No Power-playing:
Power playing is the act of roleplaying a character which is stronger than they conceivably are. We suggest that each person creates a character that has conceivable weaknesses as well as strengths. Please do not act as if your character is a God amongst all others if you have not had the permission to do so. - No God-modding:
